How to read the figures

All figures come from the 2024 wage statistics of the Office of Statistics Liechtenstein. They are based on the wage reports employers file with the tax administration and cover practically everyone employed in Liechtenstein.

A monthly wage here is one twelfth of the annual wage, including the 13th salary, bonuses and allowances, scaled up to a full-time workload.

The median splits employees into two halves of equal size. Unlike the average, it does not shift when a few very high salaries are added.

The office distinguishes residents from cross-border commuters who come to work from abroad. It does not report which country the commuters come from.

The statistics do not record occupation, management level or education. For an estimate along those lines, the office has its own salary calculator; it is based on 2020 data and on residents only. Salary calculator of the Office of Statistics

If a group has fewer than 100 people, the office puts the value in brackets; we mark it. Below 50 people the office publishes nothing, and neither do we.
